OBD II Question....Help

I have an 04 Suburban, check engine light keeps coming on (for about 2 weeks, truck seems to run fine). I can reset it (by unhooking battery), and it takes about 2 days to come back on.
Bought a OBD II scan tool (Actron), hook it up, nothing, tool doesn't come on. Hook it up to my other car, it works fine. Went to Autozone, same thing, tool doesn't come on. I checked all the fuses, all of them good.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

you have a blown cig lighter fuse, most all gm vehicles have the aldl connector powered from the cig fuse, check the fuse block under the hood on the drivers side
