hp tuner pro Does the hptuner come with a manual or something to walk you thru the steps of what to tune first and how to start tuning like basic things. Want to buy one but not sure if it is that user friendly, dont want to jump into something compicated.

I agree; It will quickly become a paper weight if you don't do a lot of reading on your own. The website is helpful for direct questions, but not for a general "how to start logging and tuning" type info.
Dan's book should be a great help. I was in on the beta version, and it gave a very good overview and tuning scenario, and should be even better when complete.

The scanner & editor quick start guides will get you familiar with some of the buttons http://www.thetuningdoctor.com/HPTun...%20Scanner.pdf as will our help file www.hptuners.com/help but really nothing will gain you more confidence in using the program than USING the program.
By the way Dan from MAsport's beta book is very good.

the editor gives a brief explanation of what each calibration does. I just received my pro version in the mail and have already done a few logs and made my nitrous tune. It is well worth it. While there is no large manual, all editing software forces you to understand how the cars sensors work and the theory behind it. Well worth it. Good luck
Uner the help section of the editor, click on user submited and Bill has a nice write up on doing a SD tune and then dialing in the MAF. Would be great if there was an idle and spark tuning write up though.
I finally got my copy. It seemed to take forever due to Fedex's crappy service. Dan did a great job on the book, I'm sure the input from the members on here helped a lot. He starts off explaining the basics, so you have a good understanding of the fundimentals of how the system works, which is very important. Plus he sprial bound it, instead of giving it a hard back, which makes it easier to leave on the last page you read and to read it.
I'd highly reccomend it.
