Has anyone found a way to make the digtal 7 boxes work?
I have my digital 7 programmable with boost retard from a previous build and want to use it on my ls1 setup. Has anyone found a way to make them work with a multi coil system?

I was unaware that the factory ecu allowed for launch retard and things like that to help the car make a clean launch on a not so well prepped surface. I don't have any experience with the ls1 ecu and boost, so I am heading into this blind.

7531 is the box I have sitting around. Still new in box, so I figured I should use it. If the stock pcm will do what I need it to do, I will just sell of my digital box to off set some of the cost of the new build.

It has been taken out of the box and mounted to a firewall delete panel. Not one wire has been touched or hooked up to anything. Still have all wires, boxes, cd, manual, and serial cable. I will know here soon if I am going to use it or not. I am looking into doing the front mount distributor. My only concern is the car weighs ~2500 and I am looking to make ~1000fwhp, I need a way to get it down the first part of the track.

Yep, they are using the distributor style system. I just need to find all what all goes into getting that setup together. Just from looking at a couple pics, it doesn't look cheat. Seems as though you need a timing belt system that runs with no timing cover and the dist is also driven off of that.

Here is the deal, MSD makes 2 boxes to run the carb'd engines. One is for the 24 tooth and the other is for the 58 tooth.
MSD also makes a harness kit that allows you to use this box piggyback to the stock ECU and harness. It takes control of your ignition side. The benifit would be the ability to build your own curve. It has an option for a map sensor so your ignition curve could be vacuum or boost sensitive. It looks like you can only use a 2 bar map. That should be good for most people as only the big dogs would see more than 15 pounds on their deal.
The box has a 2 step option as well as a nitrous or step retard option.
The stock ECU's have so many ways to take control of timing. With this setup you take total control of the timing curve.
I have one on the dyno and will use this to get a nitrous retard with the stock ECU. I will let you know how it goes!
