Does this sound right? I live in a small town in SC, Our drag strip is only the 1/8 mile. I have a 98 Camaro LS1 with a flow master, air lid and HPP3. Everything else is stock.. I ran a 8.90 at 82mphlast night on Michilin Pilot 335/30/18's. I thought this was pretty good until I talked to a guy that was there waiting to run and after he ran a 7.70 at 87mph I asked him what he had done. He said that all he'd done was take the cats off and installed LS1 edit,a 3.73 gear, a 3600 stall and the air lid. I thought this was not very much work for such a big result. Does this sound right? I need to change my gear and put the stall in and get LS1 edit if it is. What do you think? Let me know so I can get started, or i can stop wondering about it. Thanks. 
Re: Does this sound right? Yeah change your rear end to 3.73's, get a high stall, get LS1 edit and EFILive, get rid of the Flowmaster and put a SLP Loud Mouth catback on. Pilot Sports are great tires, but 335's are too big for drag racing, the rotating mass will slow you down. I'd leave the cats on, I doubt they are hurting you much. A cam and headers will totaly transform your car if you can afford them. An ASP underdrive pulley is a nice mod for moderate cost.
