flashing ses light
I just done the !wire mod and also installed a 500w amp and sub.
When driving it today the ses light was flashing for a while, then went off, then flashed a bit more, then went off, etc etc.
My ses light has been 'on' for a couple of years now, I've had it checked, and it was diagnosed as a manifold defect, and a slight problem with the AC. It was cleared at the time, but came back on soon after.
I will be getting it checked out asap after christmas, but read another post where a flashing ses is a indication of a catastrophic misfire.
The idle did seem a bit rough at times.
Any idea what this might be (guessing it's !wire mod or sub related), and is it safe to drive like this?
I got a drive of a couple of hours christmas eve in it, will it be okay?
Thanks for the help,
Paul.
Also you can go to autozone and have them check them for free. just write down the codes then type them in google and you get what the codes are.
I just run it again, and the light stays on.
I will check plugs and wires asap, and get the codes read.
Thanks for the help, and if anyone has more to add, please do.
Just do yourself a favor and stay away from a dealership because they will rip you a new one, and morethan likely still not know what the problem is. If you can do what i did and make sure it isn't something simple like a clogged inj. or bad coil pack than do those things first. Next get your compression check and/or a leakdown test done to rule out mechanical failure.
No problem, hope its something simple and you get it taken care of. Also keep an eye out for the car smoking, my SES light flashed for a few months on and off before it started smoking and thats basically when that cyl. shut down.
I'm in the process of buying new MSD, NGK Spark Plugs & Wires.
Hope to do !AIR soon to, so that should help with the install. Never done the plugs on one of these before, should be fun!
Thanks for the advise.

haha... have fun with that. I've gotten used to it cause i change the plugs more often since i'm on the bottle, but the first time i did it, payed a shop 40 bucks to put the last 2 in on the passenger side....
