The tables are there in HPTuners, you can tune with it once it's enabled

I have no idea why most guys are using the NOP code...I didn't have to ...I have 2002 Camaro code in the car, platform code is set to 2, and the installed options matrix in the file has collum 2 set to the values that used to be in collum 0 (which is now zeroed out) to keep the alternator and such functioning properly...AND I didn't need TunerCat to make those changes (though I still want to buy TunerCat OBD2 used somewhere...I will eventually).

Car runs great, O2's read as low as 26 mV at steady ~75ish mph cruise...PCM adds as much as 12 degrees of spark while it's lean...feels normal on the throttle and does not ping/knock at all...when you tip into it it richens right back up to normal and brings spark right back to normal too.

So you basically are telling the OS that you have a holden, running a "v" body code, and enable the BTM, alternator L terminal, and air equipped?

I always expected there was a way to tell the pcm it was a holden using the platform code, but I never gave it a try.

Very cool way to do it, and all of those functions are already in the tuning software I support/use

Exactly, I don't know what BTM is...but I put the 1 there because it was in the other collum...as well as AIR and alternator L terminal, and I set the platform code to 2. I don't have TunerCat, so I had to do this in a hex editor in the raw binary file...and I had to correct my own checksum, if you have TC, you can do it all in the editor and not worry about the checksum. But it won't work on your 98 as the 98 PCM won't have the lean cruise code...unless you're running a 99-2002 PCM with 2001-2002 code (the 1999-2000 PCM is compatible with the 2001-2002 code, flash the entire os and it will accept it and run it properly).

Bringing an old thread alive. Is this possible for us simple folk? I would love lean cruise. Right now I am OL and ran AFR at 16. Gained 3 mpg.

Thanks,

-Kyle

HP Tuners :/. Love the program but if I had the money I would have gotten EFI Live.
