Excessive backfire problem

Default Excessive backfire problem

I have a '00 ls1 that for the past week has backfired about 4 times. Each time is while I am decelerating in a low gear between 4500 down to 3k rpms. It finally blew apart the band clamp for my header/y-pipe and blew the y-pipe off the right header last night. Fixed that today. Does anyone know what might be causing this excessive backfiring.

Probably extra fuel dumping into your headers when you decelerate...prolly get more answers in the tuning section.....moving thread....
