JET performance control module question

I just bought a 98 Z28 and it has this Jet control module on the pcm. Basically, the module plugs onto the top pcm slot and then the stock harness plugs into that. I've tried searching but really haven't gotten the answers i'm looking for.

Basically, it this pretty much useless and I should take it off? Or, should I just leave it on for now since this is my DD and it doesn't matter?

Any input on it would be good, especially if it has negative impacts.
