Idle question What do I need to adjust on LS1 edit to get my car to idle properly? When I start it up in the morning,it wont stay running uless I keep my foot on thgas for a while...then at almost every light..it will also die..The idle is set at 1000 and I dont want to go much higher...I have a 595/595lift230/230 dur on a 110 lsa, stage 2 A.S. 5.3 heads..its auto car with a 3800 stall..please help..it embarassing and more importantly...anoying
Re: Idle question I would try reducing the VE tables below 1500 until it starts on its own and idles, I did this on a 409 iron block with a 260@.050 solid roller car and it worked very well.
Re: Idle question Try raising the "IAC Park Position" & "Idle Air" tables by 20% above 20ēC. Raise both tables by the same percentage because they are sensitive to each other.
You might also try adding a few degrees of timing from 400-1200rpm in neutral and in gear. Adjust timing in the following tables: Base Spark in Drive, Base Spark in Neutral and High Octane Spark Advance.
When you do get the car to idle, monitor the IAC counts. Most f-bodys like to idle at about 30 counts.
