Default Tunercat Stall Wall Fix

Can anyone tell me if this is correct? I have done alot of research and talk to a few people so I am hoping some other can shed some light. I don't see why this has to be sooooo secretive! here is a screen shot of the changes made.

It is my understanding that the VSS diag you changed is the only thing you have to do. I've never heard of having to change the upshift tables like you have done also. I will say that no one has ever brought me a car with the problem to try it out on though.

Thanks for the response! I think the reason some are changing the WOT MPH to 1 is so that it is forced to shift at the selected RPM. I would assume changing that single cell would have no impact on daily driving considering the other tables are normal. I may try it without the MPH change and see what happens. I have a few different changes I want to test out this coming weeekend anyway.

Does anyone else have an advice?

That should make it shift based on RPM only at WOT but that should not have anything to do with what is refered to as the stall wall.

Agreed. I guess some are under the impression that if it shifts then you won't have the issue at all. Either way I just want this issue to go away for good!

Bump, anyone have anymore input? The car was down for a while, but should be back at the track this weekend. Any input? I do not want to run into the stall wall issue again.

Also, how do I properly change my shift points? I think I might be able to drop my ET if I shift slightly higher.

Not one fix is for everybody, I have fixed the stall wall by just getting the mph and rpm to command the shift points and it worked for some, not for others, I also would do the 5mph 1-2 shift and like 50 mph for the 2-3 and it would shift at the commanded rpm, again for some not for all. Some people say they just zero out all mph tables and it shifts purely at the commanded rpm. I have not tried this method....

If "stall wall" is just you tagging the limiter until the MPH
catches up, then bump the MPH down (WOT and high
part throttle) until it behaves right. My rule of thumb is
1MPH per "pop" in 1st, 2MPH per in 2nd, 3 per in 3rd.
But you might have to take a couple of shakedown
passes to get happy.

Thansk guys. I think I am going to lower the **** MPH so I can get it to shift by RPM. We will see how it plays out at the track sunday.

I just changed the VSS Diagnostic enable to 400 RPM over my stall, which means I set it to 4000.

This fixed the problem I was having where my transmission would go into limp mode if I had a decent launch. The transmission would only have 2nd and 3rd gear until I shut the car off and restarted it.

After I changed that setting, I had my best launch ever and it shifted perfectly.
