Newbie Autotap questions (creating config, helpful perameters)
Hey Guys,
Search is not working, so bear with me if these questions have been asked before.
Just bought and installed the newest "enhanced" version of ATAP and ran my first logs. Here are my questions:
1. My Guages were not working, I set up a guage for MPH & RPM but they were not logging visually. Graphs however (for A/F and O2s) were working.
2 What are good perameters to measure and what do they mean?
These are the ones I know:
-Ignition Timing Advance: Timing Curves (degrees advance)
-Air Fuel Ratio: - Does this actually work?
-Engine Speed: RPM (Self-explanatory)
-Injector Pulse Width Avgerage Bank 1 & 2 : What is this? I logged it in hopes of calculating injector Cycle duity??
-Intake air temperature: (Self explanatory)
-Knock Retard: Knock sensors pick up vibration and pull timing.
-Long Term fuel trim bank 1 & 2: Negative= Car is rich and computer is pulling fuel. Positive = Car is lean and computer is adding fuel. I know this indicates a rich or lean condition but does it have anything to do with injector cycle duity? Is this perameter repetitive of A/F and B1S1/B2S1 readings?
-O2 sensor Bank 1 sensor 1: Reading in mv - Higher = Richer .880 considered to be in the 12.8:1 - 13:1 range
-O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1:Reading in mv - Higher = Richer .880 considered to be in the 12.8:1 - 13:1 range
-Throttle Position Angle: Percentage of throttle to tell you if you have reached wide open throttle (WOT)
-Engine Coolant Temperature: (Self Explanatory)
-Vehicle Speed: (Self Explanatory)
3.This is all that I have setup to log. Anything else important that you would reccomend adding??
4. What is the difference between enhanced ATAP and EFI Live?
Thanks for taking the time to read this
.

No, unfortunately I don't.
Perhaps there is info here:
http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/dutycycle1.html or
http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/
as referenced from Smiley?

Any ideas why my guages were not working in real-time (just show pegged) or if the A/F ratio readings are at all accurate?
i am working on adding an injector duty cycle chart to my spread sheet... but haven't finished it yet.
you can do it yourself - log rpm and injector pulse width (bank 1 and 2). you then compare the injector pulse width to rpm to determine injector duty cycle.
