Tuning For Torque Management
changing the spark retard vs desired torque
reduction table. Engine TM all gets 640lb-ft
(I wish) for max, you don't need to protect the
motor.
I have reprofiled the torque reduction vs torque
table (trans TM) also but you want to be subtle
there, one time I tried to implement a "constant
torque" profile and ended up with a very annoying
bog effect when I would "flutter" the pedal (like
blast out to the median, drop throttle and then
go, it'd dog me until I lifted again). Never did
understand it, only fixed it cut-and-try.
What I did was simply load the performance tune onto the car's pcm and then I just turned TM back on. Only because I don't want it completely off and have no way of knowing how much has been removed from Slp.
*on a side note though: I did notice that when I left the "performance tune" alone, it DID seem to have more power. When I turned the TM back on it seemed to have less.
Is it safe to leave it the way the performance tune has it set?
