Default When clearing an ses code, is it "turned off" permanently?

Just wondering when I use my Predator to turn off an SES code, is this considered permanent or will it come back on if there is a problem. Thanks guys, I know this is a newb questions but I am really not sure about the answer. I have a touch of newbism.

if you are simply clearing the code, to shut off a SES light, it does not shut off the code monitoring permanently.

Clearing the code is the same thing they do at Autozone when they scan it. It will come back if the problem is still there. You need to edit the programming and reflash the PCM to truly "delete" the code.

Even still, you have to set the codes to "No error reported". Some mistakenly set the codes to disable the SES light functionality for the code, but not to "no error reported". This causes the car to throw and code but no light, and they still fail inspection.

Depends on the code and what version Predator. Some versions let you permanently turn off the rear 02s, secondary air and EGR codes for those years that have it using the modify tune menu.

Well I just bought it a couple months ago. It does let me delete the rear o2s and I guess from what you're saying I could go in and turn off AIR too? Can I do that by simply modifying the tune I have loaded in now (canned tune with lots of custom tweaking?)?

What version is it? I'd post it for Diablosport to chime in. Mine won't permanently delete codes (early version), along with the newer versions, so can't tell you how to do it. I should've sent mine in for the free upgrade a couple years ago.

Well I'm nowhere near where I can find out the version right now but I know it is the slp version and I think it's ver. 9.xx? I'll check into what you said though, thanks.

Can't delete codes...just clear them. Send your original back up along with your last installed tune to Diablo, tell them which codes you want deleted and they'll make you a custom tune.
