Exclamation Tune from texas speed? ok?

i have a 99 camaro m6 longtubes comp cam 224/228 581/588 on a 112lsa, valve springs, push rods, 5.3 heads with ls1 valves, slp lid, k and n air filter, fast 78mm tb, 3.73 gears and i have the stock injectors i was wondering if i went ahead and got it tuned if it would run good without having bigger injectors. i think it will but i dont know. please help me out i was wanting to get it tuned this week. i have a crappy tune on it from a local jokal and its crap aND thinks the injectors are too small for what is done to it and i need bigger ones to get it to run right, it runs like crap and barely idles. thanks let me know please.

The injectors do need to be upsized but that is not why it's running crappy. They will simply go to 85-95% duty cycle at WOT high rpm. Down low at partial throttle they will be fine.

I ran my heads/cam/headers/gears/intake/TB modded '99 SS with the factory injectors and put down 400 RWHp. So its not that you have the factory injectors, its the tune that you currently have. Looking to the future, if you do get heads, then it would be best to upgrade the injectors by about 25% flow margin.

Search for someone else to tune your car with you along, or start thinking about tuning it yourself. There are three phases to a good tune: Idle, Drivibility, and WOT. And you do them in that order.

AND: You can not properly tune the car thru the mail. Never let someone mail you a tune.

Mail order tunes are GREAT for H/C/I/ injectors cars!!!!!

They are great for use by the owner to get the car up and solid in front of me and my wideband

Frost: you have given me alot of advice & others, and I have alot of respect for you and your tuning capability. However, a person who is smart and learns to tune his own car will get it a little closer than you can. I am sorry to disagree with you, but its very difficult to get the drivibility tune right unless you got your hands on the car. Now if you look at the number of posts that you have VS my number of posts, this is a very strong weighting factor in your favor! 4,094/385 = 10.63 You definitely know more than 10 times what I know about tuning. I think that I will shutup now.

Doc you misread my post... I only use mail order tunes for H/C cars to get them up and driveable and in front of a wideband. They are not a substitution for hands on tuning.

Frost didn't say they were good tunes to keep. He said they're good enough to get the car to someone to have it properly tuned.

Yea, I guess that I did misread your post. Sorry about that. I, also, think that a good mail order tune is a good starting point for alot of guys. But as you said, its an opportunity to get the car to a professional tuner.
