Ok , need to make it so max timing advance is only going to be 25* whats the suggested way to do this? And whats the difference of Base spark in gear and hi octane table?
Thanks

+ High Octane table - Open throttle, in gear timing advance table. Load. Referenced by all Load cells.

+ Base Spark In Drive - Closed throttle, in gear timing advance table. Non-Load . Referenced by non-load cells 17, 19, 20, 21.

+There are timing tables we don't see it Edit.

+I guess set max timing at RPMs to 25 in High and Low Octane tables ( They are actually blended, depending on recent knock history, by the PCM). Might also Edit" Max Brake Torque" table also ...not sure if and when it's referenced.
FWIW

Joel,
- whats the method of selecting the rom vs. g/sec in high octane table?

- so for timing while idling in gear it would be the base spark in drive?

Thanks, this seems more confusing. With every part I get deeper into it.

Charlie-

Yes, idle in gear would be Base Spark in Drive.

It's RPM vs gms per Cylinder. Grams per Cylinder = [MAF (gms/sec) * 15] / RPM.

I'm not really sure what your first question is/was???

oh, the 1st one, is in the hogh octane table, it has top row of RPM, and the side column of g/cyl and was trying to find out, the ways to adjust it, liek is it better to only mess with a certian area of the table based form the g/cyl and or RPM, or blanket the whole table?

Adjust one area at a time. Idle -> 0 -1200 RPM from .08 - .32 gms/cyl.
