MAF change recommendations and clean up Hi guys,
My car is GTO 2006 LS1 5.7 with 6gear M. i had several things installed K&N airintak, Headers, Exhust, Cam. i'm facing a problem in my car, everytime i step on and reach a high RPM and the car stopped when it retunrs to idle by puttin the gear on nutral , the engin goes off. another thing, i feel the car is so rich and i can smell alot of carbon coming out. I had the car checked and they told me that there is a strange signle they are getting from the MAF sensor and he recommnded to change it. I looked for the part but i found it a bit expensive over here almost around $500 (i guess GM parts are getting really expnisive in the middle east). anyway someone told me that MAF could be cleaned. i'm just wondering did anybody did that before, i have an electronic cleaner that used for cleaning computer mother board and wires can i use it ? or shall i used air filter cleaner and oil?? would someone with pictures show me around how to do this steps?

I have cleaned my MAF with CRC Maf Cleaner. I would ONLY use MAF cleaner on the wires they are very sensitive. Just wait until the maf cools down and spray it from both sides with the engine off.
Have you oiled your K&N recently? Sometimes the oil gets on the MAF wires and causes problems.
