Helps when the tuner knows how to rebuild 60's and 80's......it is good to know what is going on in there.

TJ over at Baker did my friends KB Z06 a couple of times and is very happy with it. Looks like I might make a trip over there to turning the boost up little so she will need a little tweaking tune for that.

I'd just like to add that, after contacting me a couple weeks ago, Steve at Vector fixed up my tune for me on Friday. Driveability is nearly stock.

Thanks for helping me get to where I needed to be!

X2 for sean.
He is the only one I let tune my turbo car and anything else I build that needs a tune.

I had some stalling & surging issues after having Vector tune mine as mentioned previously in this post. Steve contacted me after reading that & let know that they have no problems rechecking the tune for no charge. So I let them retune it & it does run a lot better, its been a few weeks & it hasnt stalled yet. I like the way it idles now. They gave me a better printout of my actual HP & TQ numbers as well. I mentioned something about my trap speeds were down, I couldnt trap above 111 mph, but I wasnt powershifting the car. When I did I went 113, & only got 2 runs on it so I should trap higher than that next time. I shouldve just called Vector instead of posting it up here first. The guys at Vector are very professional & knowledgeable tuners & if theres a problem are willing to make it right.

After having bad experiences at both livernois and vector, I figured I needed to start doing my own tuning, and am glad I did. Although he isnt an exclusive gm tuner, Lidio at Alternative has been doing some great tunes on lsx's lately. I know him personally and would deal with him if i was going to have someone tune my car. Hes very thorough, wouldnt let a car leave with an issue and you can actually get a hold of him.

Seems like we've reached the end of first hand accounts with live tuners here in michigan. Anyone else feel free to chime in. In addition to live tunes, has anyone had great success with mail order tunes with internal mods. I've seen some good come from EPS mail orders, but they aren't cheap ($450), i'd rather get a live dyno and driveability tune for that price.

Default Ty Mason

Baker has a good name.
But also TY Mason with Custom HP is very good. He is a former national drag racing champ. His c-5 is pumping out 705WHP. Almost 900crank HP He drove it to Nevada. averaged mid 20'sithink it was 24 mpg out there. Did a 90mile race averaged 150mphin the 90mile race. and drove it back to michigan just fine he charges $500.00 to tune.
Here is a video I think he got it up to 745 to the wheels now... Tell him Champ sent you.

I have had a ton of friends use him. Including my brother in law. It doesnt take to long.
Depending on what you have done to you car alot of times he has a successful tune already pre loaded. If its a common set up. Or he will do a fine tune with using a bong in the EXG. not just sniffers at the end of the EXG tips. Itsa more acurate. I was going to use him for my turbo project this spring.

I know many people that have used him and has been very happy! Berger Chevy is using him to tune their special 2010 Berger Camaro's. I have a friends used him for a c-5 a c-6 and a new 2010 camaro. He does alot of LS stuff. One friend of mine has used him for 2 of his cars now... A guy that formally used All speed performance. So he is about to have him tune his 3 car this spring...

I'm also thinking about having Chuck Anders Come up from texas to have a dyno tune day in michigan. I has set many "LS" world records and in my opinion I Think he's the best in the nation if not the world. He travels all around to do tune. but i would need Participation from other people on this site to bring him in to do a dyno tuning season... Let make it worth his while. Let me know if anyone else is interested in getting a tune by him we are thinking in april some time?...
