Pros/Cons No Maf
#2
pros
- reduce intake restriction
- better throttle response
cons
- the maf can account for change in weather
- i've got my HSW interface connected through my MAF to add fuel for a dry nitrous setup.

With CLSD, yes the 02 sensors will help, but due to atmospheric conditions your fueling is still going to be off unless you have somehow perfected the bias tables. In an OL situation if your SD tune isn't perfect, your fueling is going to be off.
MAF on the other hand will stay very accurate despite conditions.

well im intake is a 92 fast and my maf is stock i wont buy a bigger aftermarket maf especially if i could just do away with the maf all together.. i think the stock maf is what 85 mm so i dont know how much restricting that 7mm is doing

so you'd be looking at more like 17mm.
thread about gaining 16hp on a cam and bolt-on fast 90/90 setup just going from the stock 75mm (called 78mm a lot i think due to OD) maf to a descreened 100mm maf.

Do what i did make your own 100mm + lid and buy the 85mm GM or 100mm MAF from lingenfelter. *5mm comes on alot of the new cars and trucks (with V8s) http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...egory_Code=C68

well that will work too lol. i think mine is around 102mm i can make it as big as i want and i think it only cost me 40-60 $ in materials. Its good to know that someone has made a big lid!! only bad thing about mine is i had to do a lil grinding on the shroud and radiator support in the middle, i could go almost 5 " but i dont see any point with only a 85mm MAF anyways.
