If a person were to have a local shop flash the VIN of a 6 speed car into an automatic car using a tech 2 (which i believe will be hooked to a gm website but not sure) will it change the operating systems and mess with my trans tables?

 

Yes,if flashing with the tech2 you need to make sure the vin matches your cars drive train combo.

Why do you want to change the VIN?
It can be done without messing up the OS, just not with a tech2

 

Use EFI LIVE and change it to what ever you want.

 

not worried bout as of yesterday though the cars totaled so i'll worry bout it with the next build lol...was just gunna swap it to another vin for tuning reasons had access to other vins that werent going to be used anymore...thanks for the help though guys
