disconecting the E-vap line from the intake to a vented catch can?
I want to remove the e-vap port on the side of my LS6 intake and Tap & thread a IAT sensor into it so i can Tune my car for methanol injection.
I an running the bigger 4.5" Procharger twin intercooler set up and because the MAF sensor is so close to the T-body there is no where to mount a IAT sensor, the best place i can see is where the e-vap port is, its is a thick place to tap and thread a sensor into.
ok i heard notto remove the whole E-vap system, purge valve/silonide etc , that the gas tank need it to vent properley.
so what if i just disconect it and run a vent line/hose to my vented catch can? so no water dirt gets in it .
does the E-vap system just need to be able to vent ? If so i would think venting it into my vented catch can would work good, Or does it need the vacume from the motor/intake to suck it out?
Please help
thank you
