if a write entire was performed on my 02 vcm with a random 99 file is my vcm id still the same? or does it wirte the vcm id also. i found a shop who has a tech 2 and can flash my vin/os back to my vcm, but its not gonna be worth it to me if my hptuners is still not gonna work. gotta be at the shop at 10:00 pacific today. so if someone knows the answer pleasee let me know

yup just figured that out. just got back from the shop. oh well atleast i have my own vin/os back on my vcm. as i didnt have my stock file saved on my laptop. looks like there is no other way around it but to buy 2 more credits so i can get back in my vcm. now is there gonna be any problem now that i have my own vin/os on my vcm but the 99 vcm id? any discount codes floating around for some hp tuners credits?

No, you are misunderstanding how the license works (or you are referring to using other PCM flashing warez). Those 10,000 cars will all have different ID's. In order to make them them same as the one file you did license, you have to license them (so that you can write to them).

No, from what I have been digging, a Tech2 cannot change the VCM ID.
Has anyone confirmed, 100% confirmed, that you can change the VCM ID by flashing a PCM with a file from another PCM?
I am trying with Winflash and CANNOT change the VCM ID, why is this a problem? I put a 99 OS in my 0411 PCM and it blanked my VCM ID and I cannot get it back at all. The VIN is written differently. Is it an issue for me? Not directly, but I am concerned why it did it.
I am betting that no one can change the VCM ID unless they have a command that specifically changes it.
If anyone has unlimited in HPT and an 0411 and would be willing to test this, please let me know.
