hptuners wideband offset
hptuners wideband offset Has anyone tried hooking a wideband to common ground with the obd-2 port to eliminate voltage offset? i have a fast dual wideband and it always reads about a point off on hptuners.
If this is because of ground offset and i make a jumpper harness that ties the obd2 ground together with the ground in the cig lighter im using to power the wideband it should do away with this problem for sure? I thought about just modifing the transfer function in hp tuners but it seems the the amount of this ground offset could be different in different vehicles, id like to find a solid solution.
any other solutions?

Same problem with PLX WB. confirmed against local dyno WB. No matter what they say about these WB sensors switching around stoich, they read 14.7 on their gauge, and it is just as off sending signal to HPT. So Mine reads 14.7 for stoich regardless of e10 or true premium. I'm doing the same hack you are, just calibrated against the dyno's WB. Interestingly, It works about to be the difference between premium and E10.
Use this spreadsheet to create a new expression if your WBO2 controller does not allow you to change the output slope to match your stoich AFR.

Good stuff. I had trouble making my PLX match the narrow bands last year.
Even with my stft's at +/- 1, the wideband was off by about 10% everywhere.
I'm guessing because I have it powered by the accessory outlet.
I wasn't sure if it was ok to "calibrate" the wideband through HPTuners...
