If they sold an unlimited VIN product for under $1K, chances are the workshop they sold it to would make more money out of thier product in the first day they had it!! I think the price they charge the workshops is not over the top, most will get thier money back within months.
It's no different to Micro$$ft getting a license for every version of thier products installed in a large office.

[QUOTE=dissonance]I agree there should be some kinda dual software/hardware but the problem with that is no one wants to let out there secrets so another company can add logging or editing... The Predator has done this but only has basic logging and basic tuning.
I know EFIlive "star performance" has tried to work with "carputing" but they just will not do it.

It's taking Predator (DiabloSport) quite a while to bring out their 1.04
upgrade after the first mention of it, too. Which is supposed to add
params and logging, last I heard, but it's been quiet for months.
Maybe EFILive and TunerCat should pair up. It sure would be nice for
TC to use the AutoTAP V2 cable and not add a third incompatible one
to the mix. EFILive already has the comms stuff knocked and at least
writes to temporary PCM locations. I think TC has the programming
interface already from other vehicles and is mainly having to wade
through the PCM guts and find what's where. Maybe they could play
well together and kick some deserving overpriced ***.
