hi there, im new to the forum and to the ls1 world.
as you all know that it is hard and expensive to get a hand on a 98 ls1 M/T ecm and also the engine harness.

and the motor that i have is from a 98 transam

now here's my question..Does anyone know if i can get a 99 or 2000 ecm, harness and swap it to the 98 ls1? will it plug in with no problem?

ill be thankful if anybody could help me figure this out thanks guys

The 99 PCM will run the engine, but the ECU harness is NOT compatable with the 98 Body Harness, IE everything else in the car.
I have several 98 ECM;s on hand.

nice..but i think the body harness wont meter that much because im swapping the motor into a 240sx so i just wanted to find out if the 99 up engine harness will plug into the 98 ls injector etc..

but hey are you interested in selling one of your 98 ecm? im looking for a 6 speed one

injectors are the same, the water temp on the 98 is a 3 wire the 99+ is a 2 wire, swap out that sensor. Map is the same, maf is the same, oil press is the same. 02 is the same. iac and tps are the same.
if you have a engine harness you can use that with one of my PCM's. If you DONT have a harness or PCM then you are better in the long run to get a 99+ (the 99+ have more ability to fine tune) Some dont like the 98's but I have no major issue with them, they do have their tuning drawbacks so dont get me wrong.

I have found a 99 ECU and engine harness. Can i use that on my 98 Z28 to get the more modern ways to tune and a better setup?

Any up date on what you did? I have the same issue. A 98 Ls1 and no ecm or harness.
