Default Lean?

This is just about to drive me insane. I've been adding fuel and changing timing like crazy and can't get the plugs to change at all . I've added fuel with the VE and PE tables and have got NOTHING. I've tried a BR7EF and TR6 (mind you I'm running all motor) and both plugs look ghost white after every pass I make. Wideband (Innovate LC-1) has showed it to be running very rich, well I did the free air calibration and it has still showed me to be running rich but the plugs tell me a whole different story.

What the hell can be wrong? I've tried timing anywhere between 28* down to 24*. Fuel pressure is great, new fuel filter and etc. I've tried it with a stoich AFR for 14.2 with the 10% ethanol and also the stoich of 14.68 and nothing has been working. Every plug looks the same.

The car is tuned in SD.

It has been a 1.46 60' and 6.92 at 98MPH in the 1/8th back with the 4L65E and +200lbs ago.

The car now has a TH400 with a brake, 200lbs lighter, 4.33 gears and a Neal Chance converter and the best it's been is a 1.55 60' (off the Tbrake) and a 7.01 at 98MPH.

Car is a 370ci, 42lb SVO's, LS6 heads, 238/246 607/613 110+2 LSA, Victor Jr, Accufab 4150, and all the supporting bolt ons.

Is it just me or does this thing look pretty lean?

I'd like to see what there is to be said about this, my car idles rich, enough to smoke a moderate amount but the plugs look a little lean....no change I have made has affected the smoking or the plugs...

From my experience, fueling needs to be way, way rich before it shows up on the plugs.
Maybe it's because of how high the ignition voltage is.

If you change the stoich AFR in the tune make sure the WBO2 AFR matches.
You'll need to change your PID expressing to match.

Are you shutting the engine down in the traps and pulling it back to the pits... or driving it back? If you make a pass and drive the car back to the pits, they are gonna show stoich readings by the time you get back, which will look lean. True plug readings (for WOT) can only be taken by shutting the engine down immediately.

Your injector data is all wrong for the 42 SVO green tops. The IFR is too low.

I've shut the car down twice to check it and the plugs look exactly the same. Since then I've just been driving it back.

Thanks for the help and input so far guys.

Just a thought reading a plug that is running ethanol is not the same as reading a plug running gas. I know your running a very low percentage but like i said its just a thought. You do not read the color off the porcelain around the center electrode.

Changed the IFR, volts, etc accordingly today. Tomorrow I'll take it out for some VE tuning and see how it goes. Sure wish leaded gas wasn't so expensive . I should probably go up town to start buying the "non-ethanol" gas anyway.
