Default TPS voltage way to high at idle...Please help ASAP.

I tried slotting the holes to lower it and it stays in the high .80's. Even if I remove the screws completely and rotate it i can only get it to .70? (An inch from the bolt holes!!)This is a autozone replacement. I have a nick willams 90mm cable driven TB on a Ls3 intake. I cant get the IAC below 114 at idle either. In HPtuners wither we can get it a 2% tps at idle and only 78% Wot. Or adjust to get 100% at WOT but it stays at 23% for idle. THis is killing me!! I want my car to idle! Also at WOT the TB blade is all the way open.

Sounds like your autozone replacement might be defective...

Going to buy another TPS sensor. I searched and couldnt find anyone on the forums that had the same problem. I can completely remove the sensor and manually turn it and the lowest it will go is .70. Also at idle it showed 2-3% even when we reset it. Never could get it to zero.

Figured it out. The harness was made wrong and the tsp wires were switched. Damn

Glad you figured it out - after seeing a second one was off, you did the right thing by looking into the harness...

I hate to bring a thread back from the dead, but this ended up being my issue as well, so a big thanks to the OP for posting a solution. My Car is a second gen RX7 swap, and the ONLY thing I did not do myself on this car was make the engine harness. So much for paying a professional and avoiding the headaches. A quick harness check (after some pretty intense troubleshooting), revealed the TPS was sending a true .88 volts at idle (limit of the TPS sensor) and that the ground and signal pins on the TPS reversed. swapped it around and I am now getting 0% at idle and 100% at WOT. Idle tuning, here I come.
