Is there any reason I can't use a couple of the old style 1 wire oxygen sensors on my '93 Blazer which has a 2002 truck harness/PCM? When I built the truck I took out all the O2 wiring since I was running the fueling off a Megasquirt. Now I am taking off the Mega and going to run a 2bar SD tune on the stock PCM
I want to use the 1 wire sensors because they are way cheaper, and 1 wire is obviously easier to add to a harness than 4. The heater in the modern oxygen sensors is just to bring it up to temp quickly for emission purposes right?

That, and to supplement exhaust heat at low flows.
If you're running headers, even a heated sensor may
not be happy at idle. So expect some poor trimming
behavior unless you have it mounted close-in to log
style manifolds.

Yes, I am running cast iron exhaust manifolds and I think I have room to mount the sensors real close to the manifold outlet. I am off work Thursday so unless someone gives me a reason between now and then, I am going to try it. I was going to use the "simulated" narrowband output from my LC1 but I think real sensors would be better...
