Tuneing on open down pipe

Tuneing on open down pipe have a 73 nova with a ls1 in it... with a turbo.... exhaust is not done yet and have to spin the dyno and tune in 9 days... if i dont get the exhaust done is it ok to tune with just an open down pipe????
since its going to be a straight through bullet style muffler i didnt know if it would matter
