Desperately need help-No Interior Gauges
I'm hoping this is in the right forum.
Long story short, swapped in a 6.0L into my 2001 Camaro. Same pcm that came with it, however, the wiring harness is not the stock one.
The gauge cluster lights up perfectly, so I know it is getting power. However, none of the gauges actually works. I have tried resetting the needles, but when the key is turned back into the on position they just sweep to the last spot I put them and stay there until I turn the key to the off position.
I have checked all of the connections at the pcm, and bcm. The ground beneath the drivers side kick panel is fine.
What the hell is going on? I need ideas.
Thanks

I had a similiar gauge probem with the gauges on my camaro but it was just the oil pressure gauge. Have you checked the sensors, where they connect to the harness and the harness itself for any breaks cause if there is the resistance either drops or skyrockets tricking the gauges into giving that really high reading.

What year PCM?
Is it a Red/ Blue plugged PCM or a Green / Blue plugged one?
If you're using a Red / Blue plugged one and still have your original one, run the motor and get it warm, then diconnect the battery, switch PCM's, hook the battery back up. turn on the key (don't start it) amd see if your temp gauge have a reading. If it does, there is an issue with the OS, not having the proper routines running to send the signal up the class 2 data buss to the gauges
