Default Thoughts on wideband location??

OK...so, I'm getting ready to tune my car in the next month or so and am wondering about wideband placement. The car is a t76 setup...currently with the wideband installed roughly 18" "downstream" of the turbo housing. According to the manufacturer, this is the reccomended location...but I'm left wondering if this will indeed provide an accurate picture of what the engine is burning/not burning.

The reason I'm curious, is that it seems to me that the thermal dynamics of the turbine housing might cause a situation in which the heat and swirl produced in the turbine housing might "burn off" gasses that were not burned by the engine itself.....thus making any wideband reading taken after the turbo housing inaccurate.

Am I over-thinking this??

Thanks! It's been bugging the hell out of me....just want to make sure that it's all "right" before starting the tuning process.
