Went to the track today, and everytime I floor it from a stop, timeing drops to 0 for 3 to 4 tenths.... then again at shifts, I believe I have torque management of but maybe I am missing somethings....

this log is from a trip, around the block. There are a few WOT

Sounds like torque management.

can I get a clue... I think have everything off, or zeroed.

This is a 1996 4l80e with a 6.0 2002 cpu and engine... I don't think that should make a difference though

It is still enabled under the Engine Torque Management tab. Under General, zero out the spark retard vs torque loss table and the torque loss % vs spark retard table. Under the Abuse tab, set rpm > 7000 and speed < 0. Zero out the timer table too. Could have some burst knock too. You can log that PID or just zero out the spark control>spark retard>burst knock retard vs rpm table. Under the Trans Torque management, you can also zero out the torque reduction normal and performance tables to be sure you killed it all.

With a truck PCM, are you running an electric throttle OS?
If so there is a lot more "stuff" relating to traction control
and some of it is in weird places (at least this is so, on a
2004 I have worked on). Not as straightforward as the ol'
F-body and truck cable throttle ones.

There's also some crappy burst knock settings, on trucks.
The delta CylAir threshold is too low and can come on
just from RPM run-up and VE slope (seen that on a '99,
raised the BK threshold and it went from dog to tire
burner). Cars don't do this but you don't have a car
PCM.

I recommend you be logging all of the available Spark
Retard PIDs, if something is pulling spark on you then
that one sub-element will stand out and you can chase
it a lot more efficiently.

I'd also log some of the key sensors that can "bend"
timing - IAT, ECT - just on the chance they are flaky
(loose connector wiggling under acceleration / jerk,
etc.).

2xLS1 I ready what you said at work and yep dead on.. I missed that one, Thank you very much... after that flash, I have a huge grin on my face...

I ran a 13.5 with it running that way...LMAO

JimmyBlue

A: nope I have a cable throttle body...

B: will try the BK mod, didn't read that till I got home from the smiling...

c: and to make sure everything is great I will turn on all the timing PIDS as recommended....
