I would like to have an ability to tell when the car is in open loop vs closed loop. Is this possible without having a scanner hooked up?
Ideally, what I am looking for is a wire I could splice into that is hot in either one and that I could hook an LED up to to absolutely know when it is where.
Is this, or something like this possible?
Is there another way if not?
Thanks,
John

i know once the motor reaches operating temp its in closed loop. could be wrong though. i dont know if you can splice any wires to know this or not i think its the computer/tune that tells it to.

Kind of what I was afraid of. I just thought having a switchable LED to make sure it was in closed loop before having it CARBed/Smog tested perhaps under the seat would be convenient. Onch every two years doesn't seem worth the hassle, but when the carpet and seats are out, every idea seems like a good one! Oh, lets wire this, lets wire that, that would be cool. God I'm lame!

Very good. Thanks for saving me the trouble of even more wires running under the new carpet. I will take solace in knowing that I'm probably not the only one on here that pretty much looks for more crap to do when things are torn apart!
Thanks guys.
