LM7 5.3 Tune in My Jag Conversion
I have an '03 LM7 5.3L and a 4L60E in my 1988 Jaguar XJ-s and I'm having some drivability issues at idle.
It surges when you put the car in drive as you would do to move the car out of the garage. At idle in 'park' the idle fluctuates ever so slightly too and it seems to take a while to get to closed-loop, but when it does idle smooths considerably
It exhibited this characteristic before I had it tuned. (All stock internals, 2003 drive by wire truck PCM - 257HP @4900RPM on a Dynapack dyno) and the tuner is frustrated that he can't get it to idle in "drive" correctly. The tuner said when I brought him the car that the idle was 'very lean'
As I said, the engine is a stock LM7 with the factory PCM, MAF,
dbw TB etc. I did change the intake to a LS1 from an F-body to get hood clearance. I used the LS1 injectors also. No EGR. Intake is a rubber 90 deg elbow to a the MAF and a K&N on the MAF. Dual spun Magnaflow cats on a 2.5" exhaust with an H pipe
Any suggestions on how to start diagnosing this problem? I have a .cal file if that would help.
Phil
