Default Transplanting an ls1 into an lt car, do i need the adld connector?

I have a 94 lt1 firebird that I am putting an ls1 into with a turbo. I got the whole engine with the harness but will my tuner be able to connect to the pcm to tune it without the aldl connector? I used to work at the dealer and we used to flash pcm's with stock tunes without having the car, will it be similar to that?

You will need the OBDII style connector to tune it. It would be very time consuming to pull the pcm each time to bench flash it.

Could I just get a pinout diagram of the pcm and cut the connector out of the donor car and make a pigtail out of it and tune it from there?

You could but if the tuner wants to log driving down the road it would make life difficult. You only need on wire from the pcm to the connector pin #2 then 2 grounds pins #4,5 to body and power on pin #16
