Default 98 to 99+ pcm swap. Need some help

Can someone walk me through this? I have the chipsbybill or (whatever it is called) instructions. But I honestly dont understand them. And if theres any doubt in my mind I may mess something up I wont attempt this swap. This is what I dont get.....

"Take notice, the 1998 PCM C1 is RED and the C2 connector is BLUE. The opposite is true for the 1999 –2002 PCM. C1 is BLUE and C2 is RED".........."The numbered instructions have the color of the connector noted “Red” or “Blue.” The 1998 location & wire color (in Caps) are next then followed by “TO” where it goes on the later model harness"

Ex: Red C1-3 WHT TO Red C2-45

I understand the first part of this example obviously. Its my red connector #3 and its white. What I dont get is where its going. It says its going to Red C2-45. What is Red C2-45? Is this MY CURRENT blue connector? I would think so since it says that c1 and c2 are exact opposites in color. It says its future location is Red C2-45, on its future location the colored connectors are swapped. Or when its all done do you plug the blue connector in the red spot on the new pcm?

I hate this ****. I am sorry guys if I sound like a complete moron idiot. But I really need this done and cant seem to find anybody where I live willing to do this. I am not sure if I am just thinking to hard about it and missing something or what. I really need this explained and dumbed down for me evidently.

if it says "TO" red pin X, then that is where it goes. red means the connector with the red sleeve, which is keyed to only plug into the "red" PCM plug.

the instructions uniquely reference color, it doesn't matter if GM decided to call them the reverse order of the same 1 and 2 or switch to A and B or whatever...

OK. So when I remove Red C1-3 WHT , I am gonna place it on the same connector, only in the #45 slot. So basically what you're telling me is this phrase :

"Take notice, the 1998 PCM C1 is RED and the C2 connector is BLUE. The opposite is true for the 1999 –2002 PCM. C1 is BLUE and C2 is RED".........."The numbered instructions have the color of the connector noted “Red” or “Blue.” The 1998 location & wire color (in Caps) are next then followed by “TO” where it goes on the later model harness"

...................means nothing at all.

He did word it in a confusing way. Im thinking the TO is still talking about your current color. He was just clarifying that the new cars connectors are opposites in color to keep down on confusion.
