Default Reflashing a PCM

I need to get my PCM reflashed with the stock file, can anyone on here do it if I shipped it to them.

I tried taking it into GM but it kept throwing an error and wouldn't let them install the calibration file.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Brandon

If the dealer can't flash it to stock, then the PCM may be tuner-locked and you need to find the tuner who locked it to have him flash it to stock.

Th only other option is to send it to somebody who offers unlocking services, but most of the time is cheaper to buy a new PCM

I don't think it is tuner locked as we can make changes to tune.

Do I need to get a specific PCM, one that matches my year and model?

there is a place that sells PCMs online for cheap. I would get a 2002 pcm and they will put your years stock tune and VIN.

If you can program it's not locked and the dealer should have been able to return it to stock.

I can flash it back to stock on the bench if you are able to tune it. PM me for details. It will definitely be cheaper than a replacement.

Which software do you use to tune it?

It may be locked and you haven't noticed because you can write to it

It may be also possible it has a custom OS and that's why the dealer can't flash it.
I assume you don't have the stock tune. If you don't have a custom OS, you can revert to stock copying parameters from a stock file to yours.
