Well Magnus when will it be ready? I know on your website it says you will start taking orders tommorow the 11th??? Do I get a special discounted price for starting this thread and letting others know of it hehe. I'm waiting for it...just glad I forgot my paypal password a week and a half ago when I went to order LS1Edit!!! You know you should make the program open source so we can all add features to it and such kinda like linux then you can compile the best features that you like and include them in the software when you ship it with the cable. So basically we would just be paying for the cable while the software is free the world is going to open source, surely but slowly.

What type of interface do you use to connect to the PCM? Can I use a Multiplex Engineering T16-002 interface and can you set the destination address?

I wrote a small scan tool using that interface for a computer I have installed in the car and it would be cool if I could use the same interface. You most of spent alot of time on this program this stuff is not easy. I can't wait till its released I need to change some things in the PCM and I am not about to take that on.

HP Tuners has meetings daily... We'll have to discuss order status and if we want to start accepting them tommorow or not. We are at best 2 weeks away from shipping. I know a lot of people want to get in line but I've never been a big fan of pre-orders.

Mike, we use our own interface cable. We designed and built it in house. All of our work is done in house which just gives us an even bigger advantage over the competition.

how many units would be availible for the first shipment?

and in terms of programming would it be the same as edit, and by that i mean would one be able to use the edit tuning guides and parameters on how to tune your car on sites like "ls1edittuning" and other edit boards but just use the different VCM interface or do you have to start from scratch.

Does anyone have some more info on the HPTuner? I might be interested in purchasing it. What are the costs and what exactly can it do?

Mmm, fancy having a swipe at those that helped 'you' out when you were developing your 'free' scantool on the PCM Hacking forum.

Let us know whether or not you will be taking orders tomorrow Magnus, and if so, when we can expect the shipping. Ill be using this for a header install and need to know if I should go ahead and order some 02 sims and complete my install or if its feasible that I might have the program in a few weeks.

jrp, we have enough product inline where that won't be what holds us back, if we get that many orders.. The delay will be in the order processing. The tuning is basically the same no matter what editor you use.. The tables and parameters are the same across the board.

sscam68, updates will be distributed via e-mail and web server. The update files will be in the 700KB range. You will not have to send your cable back to add more vehicle types to your package.

We'll now later on in the evening if we'll be taking orders tommorow or not..

Thanks for the questions.

Either I missed it or wasn't asked, but can this read/convert LS1 Edit files? To compare tables, etc.

Our software cannot convert LS1 Edit filles.. LS1 Edit files are saved in a proprietary ls1 edit format.

You can however read your VCM/PCM with VCM Suite (even if its programmed with another programmer out there as long as it was not "locked") and then edit it with our software no problem at all.

Mike, I'll try to give you a call today.
