Default ABS delete.....

I have bypassed the ABS module on my 01 Z28 (non traction control car) and am running manual brakes. The problem is that I don't know how to "trick" the computer into thinking the ABS unit is still there. If I unplug the unit, the "ABS INOP", "BRAKE", and "SERVICE VEHICAL" lights all come on. I don’t want to just “put a piece of tape over the lights” (or remove them) as that kind of stuff bothers me (half assed). What do I do?

You remove your ABS but you have problems with removing a few bulbs? What was your the logic behind bypassing the ABS module?

if you READ my first post, I think its pretty straight forward why I don't want to just "pull bulbs"....I said "that’s half assing it" ...I like things FIXED!

I have changed every suspension part on the car except for the steering rack its self and the ABS was not allowing me to take full advantage of it. By removing it and installing a proportioning valve I get:

a) faster responding brakes
b) better tuned braking

well I found that if I removed the electrical part of the ABS unit from the heavy (and large) valve body/pump section, I could leave the electrical part connected which turned off the lights/codes yet fit under the fuse box (out of sight). I'm still looking for a better way to do it, but for now that will work.

its easy to do......I couldn't believe nobody had ever mentioned it before

remove 6 screw, plug the electrical connector back in, and stick it out of the way

Cool di you use a standard GM proportioning valve, or how did you do it?
