Engine Speed Signal Pin 10
i have exhausted myself here with this Engine Speed Signal that is suppose to run my digital AUTOMETER TACH that is set up properly....
problem is i am not getting any voltage from pin 10,why is that?
: tach has been checked to verify it works
: tach is set for 4cyl etc
it seems as if the computer is not allowing the signal to go through and out to pin 10.
ecm has the proper applied voltage to that parameter.
im getting it in but nothing on the out

what ecm are you running? is it the factory one for your application? are all the ecm grounds good? depending on model year some ecm's have trouble with aftermarket tachs. ive seen guys have to run a resistor and hook a 12 volt power wire to the tach signal in order for it to emit enough voltage for the autometer tachs to read them. im not an expert, thats just common things ive seen, not sure if diff year ecm's used diff pins for tach signal or not. that may be something to check???

like i said everything is good up to the input point but i am not getting out put.
you i talking about an old or regular style tach that needs a up resistor to turn up the voltage.
my tach is digital.
last but not least i have 0 voltage reading of any kind.
it like this,
your being told to fix your hair, but yet have none

do you currently have the tach wired in when checking for voltage from pin ten? ive just read that some guys had the same problem, wehn they removed the tach from pin 10 they had aprox 9 volts, however with the tach hooked up the output showed little to no voltage i guess due to the extra load and resistance. once they wired in the pullup resistor they now had 12 volts on the wire even with the tach hooked up. and the tach worked fine. although some guys are saying the extra load on the pcm can cause it to fail. its all explained here.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...e-works-2.html
Hope this info is better than the first set

looks like most people are seeing a reading of atleast 4.5 volts. could be a pcm problem internally. maybe try the pullup method and see if you can get any voltage through pin 10, if not id suspect a bad pcm.
