proscan obd link problems please help

proscan obd link problems please help so i bought that p.o.s proscan software with interface and has been a pain in the *** trying to get it to work if anybody has one or knows of them please help since proscan seem not to answer any of my email.
the problem im having is that when i connect the usb to interface the computer never recognize it,, normally it will pop up "found new hardware"
and it dont do it, so please help

What hardware do you have? ELM?

i have the one that says obdlink and on top it says "multiprotocol obd scan tool"
i think i solved one of the problems they sent me the proscan 5.0. dont get it thats like 4-5 years old and they have the 5.9 at their website wich i downloaded already
