Default 02 sensor error codes, fronts same as rear?

So on my 66 chevelle that I just put an LS1 in, I've got 2 errors codes. Both for non communication between 02 sensors, left and right.

I had my harness reworked and ECU flashed by current performance for no cats, so just single 02 sensors on each bank. When I got my harness back, I noticed that both the harness and my 02 sensors had female connectors which must mean I was using the front 02's from the donor car? I don't have the rear 02's which have male connectors. Anyway I figured the 02 sensor themselves were the same so I just cut the wires and soldered them. Are the front and rear 02 sensors from a 98 trans am not the same? Do I just have them wired wrong you think? Any help appreciated!

FYI my codes are P0134 and PO154, oxygen sensor not active/communicating.

Searching comes up with alot of different information. Is it not ok to solder and extend the 02 sensor? Do I need to buy new 02's now?

I think your harness is wired wrong, your front and/or rear 02 sensors have the same type connectors, front and rear MAY/ARE differant leight wire, but CONNECTER are same . I do not think it is good to solder the wires

All I know is the 02 sensors I put in came from the donor manifolds and looked like this;

Harness connector on left is from my stock harness that was modified by current perrformance. Connector on right is from my 02 sensor

So I guess my question is,

1) did I solder the wires backwards? If so how do I diagnose it? Wiring chart?

2) Can you not disrupt an 02 sensors wiring/connector? If so can I buy 2 new sensors? Would bosch 13444 work? I will just extend the harness more and solder the connectors back on. A member is selling 2 online for a decent price.

this pic is correct , I DO NOT know about the 13444, I am holding both a OE front sensor and a Carvett rear BOSCH #13111 which I run for front as they have long wires and I run long tubes
may 2010 the bosch list for118.63 cost me 60.89 at Orilly I think the OE are about same price
good luck Johnny

Thanks.

When I think back, these sensors may have actually been from the fronts of a vette. I did a swap for a guy and got the manifolds for free. Anyway, I just ordered new bosch 13444 sensors from a member here for $55 shipped. I'll put them in and solder the connectors back on, call it good.

OK so last question now that I'm getting 2 new oxygen sensors.

The engine harness has 4 wires to each sensor. However, 2 are black. I was able to keep them straight while I was cutting and soldering but now they are together I have no idea. How do I know which is which without trial and error? Does it matter since the factory didnt use different color wire for whatever reason?

The heater wires should not be sensitive to polarity.

Hello , usually there are 2 purple wires , those are heater wires and indeed can be wired either way . Then there is a pink wire and a gray wire and these are polarity sensitive . You might have to cut back some of the tape/plastic wiring cover to get to the factory wires that still have color . Also , the front 2 sensors are for fuel trim ....etc and the back 2 are for checking that the catilytic convertors are doing their job , so it matters which wiring and connector are located . Good luck
