Default Tune for Ls6 intake and 373s?

Ok I have had 373 gears installed and my ls6 intake without EGR is on the way. Question is do i need a tune when the ls6 intake is installed?? Do i need a tune to get the trans to shift out perfect? And do i need a tune to eliminate the EGR?

I Have a Diablo Sports hand held Programmer if that helps.

Any response would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, you should get a tune done. Needs a tune for the gears, elimination of egr, and the slight difference in your afr from running the ls1 intake to the ls6 intake. However, if you are looking at doing headers or something else here real soon, maybe knock that out too before heading to your tuner.

Yes i plan on headers next so do i wait to put the intake on or is it safe to ride untuned for about a month or so?

You "should" be fine. I, personally, would do both at the same time and head in for a tune.

You will be fine. Wait to do headers then tune! The 3.73s are just going to throw your speedo off a little. Ppl drive with swapping from ls1 to ls6 all the time without tuning at all. Wait to do headers then tune. Look into a ported TB also if you dont have one.

He is correct, people install the ls6 all the time and drive without a tune. Hence the "should" be fine. However, I have tuned customers cars that were around 16:1 afr after intake swaps. Every car is different. As long as your O2 sensors are working and your STFT and LTFT are working, you should be fine. I personally would wait the whole month sense you are planning on headers next month. Then, install both. Then go get a tune.
