Mail order tune question

I am about to purchase a PROCHARGER D-1SC with 8 rib and 4.5" twin inner coolers for my 1998 TRANS AM. I have an LS6 intake and I will be buying LT headers for it when I install the PROCHARGER. Possibly next year I will pull the stock LS1 and have a forged 347 purpose built for boost. I'm looking to get somewhere in the 550WHP range this year. My question to you guys is can I achieve my goal with a mail order tune or should I take the car to a dyno tuner? And who would you guys recommend to send the PCM to for the best tune?

take it somewhere and have it dyno tuned for best results

Yeah you are right, I know I should it's just where I live I count I have any dyne shops that I know of. The closest one to my knowledge is about a 2hr drive, which means I would have to haul the car there. I was hoping to just a mail order tune for the meanwhile so I can drive the car. Does a mail order tune sacrifice much power or reliability? If so then I will just have to load her on a trailer and enjoy the drive.

Talk to the place that dyno tunes close to you. They may be able to mail order tune your computer so you can drive it in and give you a discounted rate on the dyno tune. Just a thought. I know other places do this.
