My transmission went after 100kms of driving and then again after being rebuilt , does anyone else have any experiences that have ended like this? I only have the tune, longtubes and intake done to the car and car wont shift into second without letting up on the throttle...

 

A. Have you contacted 1_bad_ls1 BEFORE opening this topic?

B. Post the tune so we can try to help diagnose whatever is going on.

 

Disabled EGR, AIR, COT, TCS, Rear 02s, ect...

Claibrated MAF, adjusted the parmimters in: throttle cracker, PE table, both VE tables, both Spark Tables, base running airflow, throttle follower tables, part throttle shift tables, full throttle shift speed tables, full throttle shift rpm tables, force motor current tables, desired shift time tables, shift pressure tables, tcc duty cycle tables, torque reduction tables, ect...


ive been told that its my transmission, or torque converter and then no replies since.

 

So the same thing that was wrong after the first time the trans went happened again, they are replacing a drum, servo and band because it is so worn. 2000kms it lasted.

 

Just curious....you been hot-roddin' it in overdrive??

 

no the tune doesnt let me shift into overdrive at anything past half throttle.

 

If you post the tune file we can look at it and see what's going on.

 

I just got a mail order tune and same thing, had problems with tranny. 2-3 and 3-4 shift would high rev. So I yank the tranny out and thank god I did because it was hammered. The tranny guy couldnt I made home.

 

So what Im trying to say is, it wasnt the tune, it was mechanical.

 

my tranny went twice tho, close to stock hp with just the longtubes, headers and fipk. Im not sure how to get the tune file. how can i do that?

 

It has to be downloaded w/ a tuning tool such as EFLILIVE.
Or, maybe your tuner would post it for you???

 

The tuner stopped messaging me back after i asked for a refund, the transmission shop says the line pressures are off, instead of being at say 150 at a full throttle shift the line pressure is 60, they are reversed and shifting at high pressure at part throttle. They are having someone come and diagnose and fix that problem tomorrow but thats just fixing 1bad_ls1's hack job tune. Good thing they sold there tuning equipment because it could have happened to a lot more people.

 

Try getting a mail order tune from someone who knows what they are doing

about all the items they supposedly "tuned" in the trans..
The psi is controlled by a force motor.. He obviously didn't know wtf was with the settings..Thus your fubar pressures.

From my EFILIVE tune program:
"The pressure control solenoid (or force motor) is controlled by the PCM by varying the current flow to the solenoid.
The PCM can vary the current from 0.0 amps (high pressure) to 1.1 amps (low pressure).
The pressure control solenoid produces a "torque signal pressure" which determines the final transmission line pressure."

Frost could likely clean it up for you.

 

I bought a mail order tune from that hack job *** hat when he had them on sale over a year ago...

long story short, I had a friend that owns a shop take a look at it through his hp tuners cable..

1. Short term fuel trims were turned off
2. Line pressure for trans turned up
3. Was pinging at idle

By the time I could get him to look at it, it was too late. Had a small bubble from the passenger head.

He's a complete tool that screwed me over very badly, I should have just got a frost tune but like I said, his was on sale.

Also fwiw I don't bash people on here but this thread caught my attention because since I dealt with him I have talked to three other members...all three were unsatisfied and had problems with his tunes.

This simple little thing is what gets most people in trouble. The cheap price is not always the best deal.

$25000 car, $6000 in mods and people will let a few hundred dollars tempt them into something instead of going with someone or something reliable and proven.

Hate to say it but I have done it myself!
