Maybe they are FINALLY releasing the 3+ year wait on the 2.24 version!

One can only hope and pray!

Why would they ever do that?
Think about it. You can't bash a BETA version Correct?
They can keep better tabs on people using HPT because you have to login to get the updates.

I've been trying to redownload the tuning suite for my desktop. I grew tired of tuning on my brother's netbook. Everything is too small! Oh well, it's raining here anyways, so no street tuning today

Of course, the one time you REALLY need to troubleshoot something, one of the best resources is unavailable...

I would love to use my old serial interface with the new version, nope. Gotta wait. Can use my newer Pro version but if i have a newer BETA then the person that I may be helping they then have to download the new beta to use their file. Total PITA. Im soooo ready to switch to EFI live.

Dont get me wrong I really like HPT but 3+ years for a update is just exhausting.

I had a 2011 SS to do tonight, but could not get credits for a license. Has anyone heard from them? I emailed support but no reply as of yet.

Ever think maybe it's not such a good idea to host your web site yourselves?

other than the power outage issue, the site has always had perfect connection quality for me. fwiw, im pretty sure the server that hosts the beta (files.hptuner.com) is still up and running, if you still have the links saved. Every now and then I check for an update by analyzing a partially downloaded (~300KB) file against a par set with 100% redundancy. Usually a 'different' file will be larger or smaller by a few thousand bytes - if its the same size, then its the same file - and i can repair/restore the partially downloaded file using the parity set i made prior to redownloading/checking.

A ups and small generator could be more cost effective than offsite mirroing/hosting - but really, how often does the power go out?

Well in my business once is too much and would cost us several $100K for 8 hours of power outage. But then again we have UPSs as big as refrigerators.

It's all relative I guess.

Small guy = small risk

Big guy = Big risk...
