a4 w 224cam + LS1edit wont idle when starts
OK i have been plagued by this ever since the cam. Today its 50 ish outside. starting my car totally cold it wont idle untill its been driven a little. so it will cough out and die or surge until its warmed up. Can anyone tell me what i need to look at in edit. Or do i need to raise the idle some more or?

Had the exact same problem.....
It wouldnt idle worth a damn, and the IAC count was to high.....
Had the TB hole drilled out bigger which Brought the IAC count down to about 34.....Had my programmer change the decay table.
Idle was bumped up to 850 at idle and 750 in gear.....
It idles alot better but I still have to start the car and let it idle into open loop or else it surges in reverse.
A converter will definatetly help as well........

converter helps because you can brake/gas the car, say a nice 3500 stall, and keep the engine from stalling until its up to temps 124ECT.
I think its just a fact of life that you need to spend more time tuning, or deal with it in other ways. its not that bad really, i have a 224/226 in 112LSA , which is even more ornery, especially on cold days.
I must say the tuner did make it start right, i mean, flick the key, car starts 99% of the time, idles @ 1000rpm, then i let it warm up (or foot-brake it).
Once its warmed up no problems at all.
