Removing door wiring harness

Removing door wiring harness
First off... pardon my ignorance...
I am in the process of removing the door wiring harness in my 98 z28 race car. I have unplugged the harness from what I think is the BCM (under the passenger side of the dash). The only part that is still connected is a small rectangular box with it's wires running through the wiring bundle and plugs into a hub of plugs under the steering column. Can this be unplugged and removed without harm or do I need to separate this box from the wiring harness and leave it plugged in? I will take pics later tonight if I need to. Any and everybody's help is much appreciated. Thanks

Not an answer, but a question...
What are you going to do with it, once removed?
I'm in need of a passenger side window switch connector (and some length of wire), if you are just going to toss it.

Figured it out.... really simple... I just got impatient the other night.
For those who search for this in the future -- There is a nut in the center of the connection hub. Unbolt that and the connector associated with the door harness pops right out.
