Default Dash won't light up and car won't start?!?!

Drove the car to work this morning and all worked fine with out a problem. I go out to take it to lunch and when I put the key in to start up the car the dash stays completley dark and the car won't turn over, click or antyhing. All the interior lights/radio/head lights/alarm work perfectly fine without a problem. The car has a fresh battery. Checked all the fuses and relays I could find and still nothing. Termals are tight on the battery with new term screws. WTF gives?

I'm guessing that your ignition switch just died.....sounds like the ACC. circuit is working, but "key on" and "start" are not working.

Well looks like some where along the way something in the car was shorting out, so some thought it would be a GOOD idea to wrap the fuse with copper wire and jam it back in to allow the car to start and not continously blow that fuse

Looks like I'll be replacing the entire wiring harness in the dash area

After market alarm wiring. Guess it was shorting out or something causing the dash to stay dark. I had it installed about 5 years ago and it just now surfaced as a problem. Had the entire aftermarket system removed and problem was solved.
