Default Help me with V6 to V8 swap

What all do I have to change going from v6 to LS1 in 99-up F body other than engine harness and ecu? Is all the inside dash wiring and so on the same?

You will need these parts off an LS1 F-body- radiator, Kmember, Motor Mounts/Brackets, engine and transmission, engine wiring harness, throttle cable, throttle pedal, gauge cluster, fuel lines, fuel pump, and I recommend the driveshaft and rearend from an LS1 too. The engine wiring harness will need an extra wire going into the engine bay fuse box (labeled- 'INJ 2'), from the passenger side pink injector wires. PCM can be reflashed or just get the one off the LS1 also.

I am doing this at this time. I can tell you the wiring under the dash will have to be changed as well as the gauge cluster. the gas pedal too, at least on the 02 V-6 car I have is fly by wire. I changed my car to a WS6 clone (I wrapped my ws6 around a pole) and I changed the engine bay harness to match the TA nose so I do not know what you would have to do to the engine bay harness. The (02) V-6 has a front mounted fuel pressure regulator, so it has a return line back to the fuel tank. All the fuel lines have to be changed to the V-8 style or aftermarket lines will need to be used. What year PCM are you using? If you are using a PCM that came out of a 4 channel car you might also have to change the wiring harness that runs from the drives side dash down under the carpet and back to behind the drivers back seet carpet. You will have to change the rear end to a 4 channel rear end too. There may be some way around this. I do not know. I took everything out of my WS6 and put it in this 02 firebird, after I installed a 10 point, installed my turbocharged 408 and installed mini tubs, and fit 29.5x10.5x15 under it. I was warned that there was alot to change over and alot is an understatement. DO you have a donar car for all the parts?

I did a swap in my car. 01 v6 auto to an 02 LS1/t56 and didn't have to change my dash harness... Works perfect although I did splice some wires together and take some stuff out.

I wont be making it a stock car, im looking to do a turbo street/strip car. So i'll do turbo K member, aftermarket fuel lines. So engine harness, dash harness, cluster, gas pedal and cable. No donor car also, I am going to do a turbo 400. Anything else needed?

You dont need to change the dash wiring harness its a PITA anyways. PM me if you want some more help i just finished up my 95 and did an 02 before that. Cluster is only if you want the 150mph speedometer. Use a LS1 vette filter/regulator and buy about 20 foot of stainless steel braided hose from a sponsor and some fittings for the fuel lines, do some more reading lots of good info in the conversions area.
