or dead (nothing out). Crud on the wires will make it need
less power (pulse frequency) to keep itself warm like RyanJ
says, and you may just be a bit below 1500Hz output and
fail the diagnostics (F-body lower limit). Zero output would
be either blown electronics, a busted sense wire or a harness
disconnect.
You can find digital multimeters now, in the $39 range, that
have frequency measurement. I found one recently that even
came with a thermocouple in the package too. For these cars
this is a must-have tool. Too much electrical stuff going on
to work blind.
